The Second Urban Furniture Design Competition launched by the Department of Interior Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, EMU, in collaboration with Famagusta Municipality aims to engage design students in generating productive ideas for lively and liveable urban spaces. Student participation from within different disciplines will ensure a multitude of designs and provide a winning project for implementation.
The design focus is on one of the most visited and visible sites in the Walled City of Famagusta – an environment with distinct heritage features. The design issue is on prototypes for fixed seating units and arrangements that fit into the context and contribute to the social and recreational identity and life of the selected site.
